Fish and Chips

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup beer
  • 4 cod fillets
  • Oil for frying
  • Tartar sauce for serving

Preparations

  1. Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the cut potatoes and pat dry. Fry the potatoes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in beer until smooth.
  4. Dip fish fillets into the batter, then place in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve fish and chips with tartar sauce.

Tips

  • Serve with a side of mushy peas for an authentic experience.
