Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup beer
- 4 cod fillets
- Oil for frying
- Tartar sauce for serving
Preparations
- Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Rinse the cut potatoes and pat dry. Fry the potatoes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in beer until smooth.
- Dip fish fillets into the batter, then place in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve fish and chips with tartar sauce.
